Steffes EcoPort UCM

The Steffes Universal Communications Module (UCM) connects consumer smart home assets. The UCM connects EcoPort Smart Grid Devices (SGDs) to a powerful device management head end with best-in-class cybersecurity. Steffes UCMs enable rapid deployment of load-up and load-down programs to maximize customer participation in the latest Time-of-Use, DR+, and price-based load control strategies.

The following information can be used to better understand the UCM’s LED display lights:

Power

Indicates power is present.

Activity

Indicates communication is occurring between the Universal Communications Module (UCM) and the Smart Grid Device (SGD).

Connect

Indicates communication is occurring between the Universal Communications Module (UCM) and the Steffes Cloud. If this LED is blinking, there is poor or unreliable communication.

Command

If the LED is on solid, the system is in normal operation. If the command light is blinking, your power company is sending one of the following commands: Shed, Critical Peak, Customer Override, Load Up

Status

This LED indicates device-specific status information.
