Advancing Energy Resilience Efforts in Washington, D.C.
Steffes Founder, Paul Steffes, and Co-President, Todd Mayer, recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to join Keith Dennis of the Beneficial Electrification League. During their visit, they met with congressional officials and national leaders—including North Dakota native Doug Burgum, who is now serving as Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior. The focus: advancing Thermal Energy Storage (TES) as a proven, American-made solution to meet the growing electricity demands driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI), data centers, and widespread electrification efforts.
At Steffes, we’ve long believed in the value of thermal energy storage—and through our Electric Thermal Storage (ETS) systems, we’re working to ensure this fast, scalable technology is recognized for what it delivers: immediate, low-cost capacity by shifting electric load to off-peak hours. ETS strengthens the grid, reduces peak demand, and preserves comfort for consumers—all without requiring behavior changes from end users.
Designed and manufactured in the U.S., Steffes ETS systems are deployment-ready. They help unlock capacity, optimize existing infrastructure, and enhance grid reliability—without the need for massive new builds.
We remain committed to pushing ETS into the spotlight as a key asset in the nation’s energy strategy—one that brings practical impact today while building resilience for the future.
