Explainer Open Bricks

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Steffes furnaces are full of specially-designed ceramic bricks. The furnace pulls electricity from the grid to heat the bricks to about 1300° F or 700° C.
Using a heat exchanger, the stored heat is transferred from the bricks to water. It is then circulated throughout your home, bringing the heat exactly when and where it's needed.

This accessory connects your Comfort Plus to a mobile device, allowing you to adjust a number of settings remotely using the Steffes Connect app. It comes in different sizes and can be mounted at different locations inside or outside your home; a professional will recommend the right size and location for your situation.

Air Handler

AIR HANDLER

This accessory allows the Comfort Plus hydronic furnace to provide forced air heating as a stand-alone furnace or as a supplement to a heat pump, providing additional comfort in cold climates. The Air Handler will also direct heat lost through the furnace's outer panels into the ductwork and through your living space.

Static Heat Recovery Unit

STATIC HEAT RECOVERY UNIT

This accessory transfers heat lost through the outer panels of the Comfort Plus hydronic furnace to a more desirable location, rather than being lost in the room. It's useful in situations where the furnace is installed in a room with little insulation, or minimal heating requirements, like a garage or utility room. You won't need this accessory if you add an Air Handler to your heating equipment.

Elevation Stand

ELEVATION STAND

This accessory elevates the Comfort Plus hydronic furnace 18". It protects the furnace from water damage when the furnace is installed in an area prone to flooding, like a basement or garage. This accessory is sometimes required in order to meet your home's building code.
