Receive peace of mind with Steffes Connect. Our new web-based application pairs with compatible Steffes Transceivers to provide homeowners visibility and control* of their Steffes heating systems from anywhere at any time. Steffes Connect delivers Internet of Things (IoT) functionality to compatible transceivers, which can be installed with a new or existing Steffes heating system. It can also control electric devices, such as a dishwasher, freezer, washing machine, water heater, or other electric heating devices in the home.
*Specific room temperature cannot be manipulated.
**May require the purchase of an Indoor and/or Outdoor Temperature Sensor Kit.
The Steffes Transceiver is a control device used to manage Steffes heating systems and other electric loads, including water heaters, electric baseboards, electric furnaces, ceiling and floor heat, and more. The Transceivers use a communication protocol called Power Line Carrier (PLC) which operates at very low radio frequencies to transmit information over electric power transmission lines. Information is transmitted via PLC from the Transceiver to all listening devices (heaters), allowing them to take advantage of electric utilities’ low-cost off-peak rate programs.
In order for a Steffes Transceiver to work with Steffes Connect it requires that the device be linked to a Power Provider Account and Rate Schedule to operate. In certain cases, customers may find that their local Power Provider has not yet opted to enroll in the Steffes Connect Peak Control Program and a hard-wired peak control is not available for their location. When this occurs, Steffes will create a single Peak Control schedule for the local Power Provider at the request of any customer who has purchased a Transceiver equipped with Steffes Connect. If this is your situation, please fill out the form on the Power Provider Rate Schedule Request page.
