The Transceiver communicates with the Steffes Connect portal every five seconds, but the message that is sent is very small. The Transceiver should use less than 10 MB of data per month if it is always online. For comparison, that would be the equivalent of uploading a few pictures or watching less than a minute of a YouTube video.
The exact range for Wi-Fi will depend on the physical environment (e.g., walls, floors, ceilings, appliances, furniture) between the router and the transceiver, along with the strength of the router signal. Maximum range for the indoor transceiver antenna is expected to be around 200-500 feet with a standard router. Maximum range for the outdoor transceiver antenna is expected to be around 500-1000 feet with a standard router.
Contact your Power Provider for information on their available rate schedules. If the appropriate location is not available, contact Steffes Technical Support for available schedules in your area.
Room temperature setback is a simple strategy to help save costs by reducing how often your heating system operates. This is achieved by allowing the temperature in the home to adjust to a lower temperature when away from home for an extended period. See setback section of the Steffes Connect User Guide for additional information.
Weather Forecast allows the average temperature for the upcoming 24 hours to be used as the outdoor temperature. This temperature is based on the zip code for the device location, allowing the heater to be prepared for future heat calls.
Current Outdoor Temperature is received from a sensor installed outside or in the transceiver device. This gives the current temperature reading to the Steffes heater. See Weather Forecasting in the
Steffes Connect User Guide.
If the device is linked to a Steffes Connect account, the MAC Address can be found on the Device Detail page of the web-application. Steffes Tech Support can provide you the verification code if you call them with your MAC Address.
If the device is not linked to a Steffes Connect account, the unit must be opened to gain information about your unit’s identification which requires a licensed contractor to ensure your safety. Steffes Connect is a web portal, not an app. However, the Steffes Connect webpage can be easily bookmarked on a smart phone to appear as an app. For instructions on how to complete this process, consult the

Steffes Connect could send multiple notifications depending on how these are set up. You can personalize email and text notifications for each device. See the Notifications Settings section of the
Steffes Connect User Guide for information on how to adjust notifications.
