COMFORTABLE HEAT FOR ALL.

Steffes’s ThermElect hydronic furnace is a commercial, institutional, and industrial heating system that blends hydronic heating with our Electric Thermal Storage (ETS) technology. Unlike traditional hydronic furnaces, ThermElect pulls electricity from the grid to heat ceramic bricks within its core. Utilizing a heat exchanger, the heat is transferred to a water solution then circulated throughout the building, ensuring comfort in every room.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Steffes furnaces are full of specially-designed ceramic bricks. The furnace pulls electricity from the grid to heat the bricks to about 1300° F or 700° C.
Using a heat exchanger, the stored heat is transferred from the bricks to water. It is then circulated throughout the building, bringing the heat exactly when and where it's needed.

PRODUCT DETAILS

ThermElect allows for better management of energy consumption and can help reduce peak energy demand. In addition, it can be set to pull electricity from the grid when the demand is low, like midnight, when most are asleep at home. Some utility companies offer a special rate for electricity used during this time, amounting to additional savings for ThermElect owners.

Hospitals, schools, and churches across North America have financially benefitted from choosing a greener heating method: the Steffes ThermElect hydronic furnace.

Heat Pump

THERMELECT + HEAT PUMP = CONSISTENT COMFORT

Heat pumps provide efficient, low-cost heating and cooling, but many struggle to provide adequate comfort in cold climates.

What happens when you add a ThermElect hydronic furnace to the mix? Magic!

Together, this combination will provide consistent comfort to any building, while remaining efficient and inexpensive, no matter the outdoor temperature.

Steffes engineers work directly with architects to design the perfect heating solution for each project. A ThermElect hydronic furnace is often combined with a heat pump and air handler, or with an air to water heat pump.

All Steffes ETS products undergo rigorous safety testing by UL Solutions.

ThermElect hydronic furnaces are equipped with internal safety devices to protect from overheating, and we ultra-insulate the brick cores to minimize the furnaces’ surface temperatures.

BACnet Control

The BACnet Control is used to interface ThermElect with building automation and control networks, providing building managers precise and flexible control of the hydronic furnace’s functions.

BACnet Control
  1. Real-time system monitoring
  2. Full thermostat control
  3. Monitoring of heat storage levels in the bricks and all system temperatures
  4. Remote configuration, testing, and adjustment
  5. Service requirement alerts
