Steffes Employees Take the Plunge for Special OlympicsPublished March 5, 2019 On Saturday, February 23, seven brave employees in Grand Forks participated in the Polar Plunge, a fundraiser for Special Olympics ND. For each employee that jumped. Steffes donated $75 to the organization. Thank you to Don Doescher, Shawn Willette, John Stempinski, Travis Kilgore, Brad Haugen, Stephen Bolen, and Corey Graff for showing great leadership and jumping in to the freezing water for a great cause! Next year they want to raise even more money and recruit more people to join them! Special Olympics ND is the organization that Grand Forks chose as their charity to partner with this year. The Polar Plunge was our latest involvement with them. So far we have also created custom desk plates out of steel for their 50th anniversary to be given to their donors and collected money with an angel tree during the Christmas season. With the money the team raised, sporting equipment was purchased and donated to Special Olympics athletes. Our next, and biggest project with Special Olympics will be Dancing For Special Stars. Stephen Dusold will be competing as the “celebrity” from Team Steffes. He will be dancing in the April 9th competition to The Greatest Showman inspired choreography. Part of the competition that is taken in to account is how much money each dancer is able to raise for Special Olympics ND before the event. So we will need all the help we can get! If you would like to show everyone how amazing and generous Team Steffes is and help us win, you can donate to our team fundraising account at https://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/TeamSteffes/2019-dancing-for-special-stars
