Reaching the Gold Standard: Steffes Flares Deliver Unmatched Destruction Removal Efficiency
Did you know our Variable Orifice and Air Assist Flares achieve 99% and 98% Destruction Removal Efficiency (DRE), respectively? But how did we reach this gold standard, and what sets us apart?
A key piece of evidence demonstrating the exceptional combustion and destruction efficiencies of Steffes flares is our acceptance into the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality’s (NDDEQ) High-Efficiency Program. This program aims to reduce fugitive emissions, increase control efficiency, and improve North Dakota’s air quality.
Participation in the High-Efficiency Program is optional and represents a top-tier standard, utilizing a top-down approach to addressing emissions from oil and gas facilities, requiring collaboration between control device manufacturers, industry leaders, facility operators, and the NDDEQ.
To meet the program’s requirements, Steffes underwent rigorous testing, thoroughly reviewed by the NDDEQ, to certify our flares and secure their 98% and 99% DRE ratings. This DRE rating is especially important in demonstrating the efficiency of our flares and their ability to operate with no visible emissions.
That’s right – our flares meet the highest standards, backed by extensive measures and testing. This certification provides operators with confidence that Steffes flares are a compliant and reliable solution.
